Commenced in 1962, the Rotary Club of Blacktown City continues to recognise and celebrate the achievements of students in the local community.

As the school year comes to an end, the Club sends invitations to the Principals of primary and high schools in the Blacktown area to nominate an outstanding student in their respective schools for the Rotary Club of Blacktown City Citizenship Awards.

The Citizenship Award recognises a student who has been a good Citizen in the school, taking part willingly in school activities, within the school and in the community. The Award aims to acknowledge the community service ethic of a young person within their school community and the community at large.

A Rotarian attends the School Presentation Day to personally and proudly present the Award Certificate.
