Dinner Meeting – Guest Speaker Jan Pryor on Changing the Lives of Thousands of Women in Nepal with the Didi Foundation

President Rob Smith invites you to join the Rotary Club of Blacktown City members and guests to hear our guest speaker Jan Pryor speak on changing the lives of thousands of Women in Nepal with the Didi Foundation on Tuesday 10 October 2023.

Who is Jan Pryor?

• Founder of Bright Future Learning Centre Nepal
• Founder Didi foundation Australia/Nepal

2011 saw Jan unexpectedly start a children’s home in Nepal. After learning that some of the children in her care had mothers, she then focused on educating mothers so that they did not have to give up their children. From 5 sewing machines in 2013, to building their own multi-story educational centre in 2018. Then in 2023 saw them partnering with the United Nations UNHCR Nepal to build another story on to their building.

To date The Didi Foundation has educated over 6000 women, over 3000 have gained employment and 1000 have started their own businesses. Micro loans support some women into their startups.

Jan says, our growth and success never ceases to amaze me. Especially when I am such a procrastinator, but once I say yes, the universe comes in to help.
