May 21 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm
Guest Speaker Mark Tanner. Mark Tanner is the owner of Mark Tanner Sound and he will enlighten us on sound mixing for television.
A Rotarian, Mark is Past President of Drummoyne Rotary and is its current Treasurer.
Mark started his current sound post production business in 1990. Previously Mark had been a sound recordist, film editor and producer of Simon Townsend’s Wonder World!
Mark has had various studios starting with tape machines and now, based in McMahons Point, using Australian made software and hardware: DaVinci Resolve.
Recent programs include War On Waste, Farmer Wants A Wife, Million Dollar Island, Police Rescue, The Koalas, The Dog House and Struggle Street. Mark mixed the long running US show MythBusters for 11 years. Excerpts from MythBusters and Farmer Wants A Wife will be played during the talk.
You’ll find out about what’s behind the soundtrack of television: how most sounds aren’t the real ones and how music and effects can drive emotions.
