Update from the Camden flood area on funds distribution
The aid was delivered by cooperating organisations Big Yellow Umbrella Inc, Mother Hubbard’s Cupboard and Turning Point Camden in partnership with local Rotary Clubs over a three month period.
722 individuals were the recipients of whom many already lived below the poverty line, being dependent on disability or aged pensions. Affected families were able to purchase essential items such as new bedding, linen, towels, toasters, kettles, clothes, cleaning products, food, storage units and essential items to aid recovery in a confidential manner ensuring their dignity was upheld during this hardship.
Huge congratulations to President Elizabeth Policarpio Amper and the Rotary Club of Blacktown City members on receiving the Rotary District 9675 2022-23 Best Local Community award.
The Flood Relief for Greater Sydney initiative raised a total of $94,770.40 benefiting the flood victims in Sydney’s south around Camden, and the western Sydney Hawkesbury flood areas.
Thank you Past President Liz and the Rotary Club of Blacktown City Board for embracing the concept and supporting the event to provide monetary assistance to the July 2022 flood victims in the Hawkesbury and Camden areas, The Rotary Club of Blacktown City’s Flood Relief for Greater Sydney with Comedy.
Without the support of the Rotary Club of Blacktown City, Rotary District 9675 and Rotary District 9685 and our amazing sponsors, this event would not have been the success it was, raising a staggering $94,770.40 for the flood victims.
