The Rotary Club of Blacktown City Guest Speaker on Tuesday 26 November 2024
President Elect, Tess Sayas, introduced our guest speaker Tina Ranosa Bangel who classes Tess as her “aunty”.
Tina is an author, a vocal coach and a singer and she tries to always encourage children to have a passion for music. and of her heritage as a child of the Philippines.
This was Tina’s first speaking gig and she recorded it for the first time for us too, to be recorded!!!
Her journey to being a writer and song writer came about when she was diagnosed with a very serious illness requiring surgery. This changed her life and she started to wonder on what she would leave her son, Christian as a legacy. So in 2019 while convalescing and the onset of COVID she turned to writing a Children’s book named LOLA as she was unable to sing and therefore had no students to fill in her day.
The book was based on food with emphasis on the cultural food of the Philippines. Along with the book she wrote songs to suit the character of the story.
Since then she has written a second book This one is based on her father as he was a very enthusiastic and funny man. In this time frame Tina has learnt many skills such as videoing, using green screens, e-book and Facebook as COV|D made it impossible to sell to the public.
Tina sang a couple of songs for us which was very entertaining as these songs were written by her in conjunction with the books. These books are now sold on line in many countries including USA. China. Nepal and each is in the language of that country.
