Today, our Rotary world feels a little dimmer. With the resignation of Mário César Martins de Camargo as our 2025–26 Rotary International President, we’re not just seeing a leadership change we’re witnessing the early departure of a man whose legacy was already making a deep impact on the heart and soul of Rotary.

Let’s be real this isn’t just a press release moment. It’s a wake-up call. While the official reason points to health, family, and business matters (and we respect that deeply), those who know the weight of leadership also know there’s often more behind the curtain. Mário César isn’t just any Rotarian. With 45 years of passionate, dedicated service — this man lived Rotary values. A leader with integrity, humility, and purpose. The kind of leader who steps up when it’s hard, and steps away when the cost to principle becomes too high. That takes real courage.

He’s been a beacon of what service should look like not ego-driven, not title-chasing, but about people in action, always. His voice, his energy, his legacy? That’s not going anywhere.

And now, more than ever, we need to remember: Rotary is bigger than one role, one office, one year. It’s about all of us stepping up with honesty, with vision, and with the guts to do what’s right, even when it’s uncomfortable.

So to Mário César, thank you. For your service. For your strength. For your example. Rotary is better because of you. And we move forward because of people like you.

Let’s keep living the values. Let’s stay true. Let’s unite for good.
