Dinner Meeting – Celebrating India Independence Day

16 August 2022 @ 6:00 pm - 8:00 pm

6 pm for 6:30 pm

Members, Partners, and Guests are welcome.

President Liz Amper invites you to join us to enjoy an evening of fun and friendship, celebrating 75 years of Independence of India.

75th Year of Independence Day of India or Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav is celebrated on 15 August 2022. Led by the two main architects of Indian democracy, Jawaharial Nehru and Mahatma Ghandi, India formally gained independence on August 15, 1947 following almost 200 years under British rule.

The current flag of India consists of three colours.  The saffron stripe stands for courage and sacrifice, the middle white stripe stands for peace and purity, and green for faith and fertility.  The Ashok Chakra at the centre of the flag is an ancient Hindu symbol meaning “wheel of the law”.

Please RSVP by Monday 15 August 2022, 12 noon with dietary requirements via the Contact Us page – The dinner cost is $23.00 includes a 2-course dinner.  Eftpos facilities available.
