The Rotary Club of Blacktown City celebrated it’s 60th Birthday with a Lunch held at Lily’s Seven Hills.
Guests included District Governor Jeremy Wright, Assistance Governor Usha Usha. PDG Keith Roffey, Rotary Club of Mt Druitt President Bob White, Inner Wheel A53 District Chairman Leigh Smith, Inner Wheel Club of Blacktown City President Elizabeth MacDonald and past and present members, partners and friends.

The Rotary Club of Blacktown City had the pleasure of recognising Doctor Corazon Alvarez-Francisco for her outstanding service in the medical profession in the Philippines and Australia by awarding her as a Paul Harris Fellow.
A Fellow of the International College of Surgeons, Royal Australian College of General Practitioners, and a Member of the Blacktown Medical Practitioners Association, Dr Corazon Alvarez-Francisco is highly respected. Her accomplishments and her contributions to the community have been invaluable.
Dr Francisco organised the Filipino Doctors in Australia and founded the Philippine Australian Medical Association (PAMA) in 1992 with the primary objective of helping Filipino doctors who have migrated to Australia pass the Australian Medical Council (AMC) exams.
She provided leadership and guidance for Filipino doctors to practice medicine in Australia by connecting them to Australian systems and procedures and medical institutions and organising and providing tutorials and review classes for newly arrived Filipino Doctors preparing to take the AMC exams.
Past President Tess Sayas and President Rob Smith presented the Paul Harris Fellow to Doctor Corazon Alvarez-Francisco.
Rotarians designate a Paul Harris Fellow as a tribute to a person whose life demonstrates a shared purpose with the objectives of The Rotary Foundation.
